Title: Face recognition algorithm based on implicit Gabor filter and PCA
Abstract: The classic face recognition method of calculating Gabor features by convolution and performing principal component analysis( PCA) can achieve a high recognition rate. However,due to the need of calculating multi-angle and multi-scale Gabor features,the method is inefficient. To improve efficiency,this paper presents a principal component analysis method which uses Gabor features but does not directly calculate Gabor features. With proposed method,the information of Gabor features is implicit in an offline calculated matrix and the matrix is contained in principal component feature extraction. The experiments on FERET and YALE database show that the speed of the proposed method is about 5 times faster and the recognition rate is slightly higher.
