Title: A Historical Research on the Location of the Capital of Dong'ou Kingdom
Abstract: A series of prefectures and counties were established and changed intricately after the extermination of Dong'ou Kingdom during the Han and the Tang dynasties.The Dong'ou village in Zhang'an was named as Yongning county in the Eastern Han period,and later developed as prefectures and counties in Wenzhou and south of Taizhou area in the Tang and the Song dynasties.In Geographical Monograph of New Official History of the Tang Dynasty it is recorded that the region of Huangyan county of the Tang Dynasty belonged to Yongning county of the Han Dynasty.The archaeological investigation of Dong'ou city ruins and the related aristocratic tombs in Wenlin county,which should be not far from the location of capital of the kingdom coincides with the changing history of ancient prefectures and counties of Dong'ou Kingdom during the Han and the Tang dynasties.
