Title: Effect of low grade iron ores on the sintering liquid phase performance and sinter structure
Abstract: The assimilation speed and the fluidity of low grade iron ores were tested with the fundamental sintering device.Structure variation of the sinters which added 15%low grade iron ore was researched by way of simulating apoint sintering process of under bed with the min-sinter pot.The liquid phase behavior of three iron ores and the effect on sinter structures and properties were analyzed effectively.Comparing structure of the sinter which added15%low grade iron ore A,B or C with the sinter which used production blended ore,the results show that:the pore size is smaller, the number of large pore between core grain and liquid phase is less, and the SFCA is developed after added A;the pore size is larger, the columnar and platy structure of calcium ferrite increases after added B;the bonding effect of liquid is weaken due to its inferior assimilation speed and fluidity, the pore size and the number of large pore between core grain and liquid phase increase after added C.The data of sinter pot show that the tumbling test index of sinter increases 2.94% and the RDI of sinter decreases 3.37% when added 15% A in production blended iron ore.
