The flow pattern discrimination and the pressure drop calculation of the gas liquid two phase variable mass flow in horizontal wellbore were studied theoretically and experimentally. The models for discriminating the patterns of the stratified flow, intermittent flow, dispersed bubble flow and the annular mist flow, as well as the model for calculating the pressure drop both in the stratified flow and in the intermittent flow were established. The flow pattern maps were made. The calculation results of stratified flow and the intermittent flow agreed with the experimental results, when taking air and water as the flow media. The average error between the calculation result of pressure gradient model and the experimental data is 5.3 percent, and most of them are below 10 percent. These results proved that the results of the calculation model are good.Read More
