Title: Effects of IL-1 and PDGF on Secretion of MMP-9 in Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells
Abstract: Objective: Our aim was to investigate effects of interleukin 1(IL 1) and plate derived growth factor(PDGF) on secretion of matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP 9) in vascular smooth muscle cells and its mechanism. Methods: Expression of MMP 9 was detected with zymography. The AP 1 binding activity was detected with electrophoretic mobility shift assay. The mRNA level of MMP 9 was detected with RT PCR. Results: Combination of IL 1α(20 ng/ml) and PDGF (20 ng/ml)significantly induced the secretion of MMP 9, increased the AP 1 binding activity and mRNA level of MMP 9. Conclusion: Combination of IL 1α and PDGF can induce expression of MMP 9.
