Abstract: Graphical interfaces is an absolutely necessary component of Power Automation System. At present, there are many general formats of graphics, but most of which are very complex, they need special tools to build and display. So in the Power Automation System field, the formats of graphics are manufacturer-specific.Scalable vector graphics(SVG) is a exoteric standard of vector graphics which recommended by W3C, has many excellence, such as: simpleness, flexible, well-currency, etc. But we can rarely see SVG used in Power Automation System. This paper introduces the SVG in short, presents a Brower-based graphics tool and an instance of operation according to the requirement of Substation-graphics.
