Abstract:ECG has been recorded more than a century,while the mechanisms of the T wave genesis are still unclear.In the ventricular wedge models,the transmural dispersion was recorded among epicardial,endocardi...ECG has been recorded more than a century,while the mechanisms of the T wave genesis are still unclear.In the ventricular wedge models,the transmural dispersion was recorded among epicardial,endocardial and M cells,which was correspondent with the peak and end of the T wave in the simultaneously recorded surrogate ECG.In the in vivo ventricles,however,the longer activation time and faster ventricular rate as compare to the wedge model,as well as lack of electrotonic and electrical coupling may all contribute to the cancellation of the transmural repolarization dispersion.Consequently,the transmural repolarization dispersion was failed to be recorded in the in vivo studies.On the other hand,the global dispersion of ventricular repolarization appeared correspondent to the peak and end of the T wave.Further studies are needed to clarify whether transumral or global repolarization dispersion contributed more in the genesis of the T wave.Read More
