Title: One-dimensional and Three-dimensional Co-Simulation of Cooling System in a 16-Cylinder Diesel Engine
Abstract: A co-simulation is done on one 16-cylinder locomotive diesel engine under rated working conditions. This paper gets data on flow rate, temperature and pressure of cooling system and cylinder block using GT-cool software and then uses CFX software gives a 3D-simulation on the cooling water of the eighth cylinder which is worsen cooled to get internal flow field, temperature field and pressure field. The results shows that temperature is very high in two edges of cooling passages in the exhaust manifold and there is a dead cooling area,so its cooling needs to be optimized. The actual examples have indicated that co-simulation method might be applied in practical engineering.
