Title: A study of the bright point on polished surface of hot-pressing micro-grain boron carbide materials
Abstract: Hot pressing micro grain boron carbide materials are used in the control system of space navigation. So they are required to be extremely reliabile. When the boron carbide specimens are polished, some of them have bright points on the surface. It is an abnormal phenomenon. Through analyzing component and morphology on bright points, the following conclusions have been made: some boron carbide particles are peeled off from the bulk through the polishing process, the rough micro areas are seen as bright points; the ingredient of the bright points is boron carbide, and there is no other materials. A further research should be necessary to eliminate the bright points effectively.
