Title: Reconsidering the Peasant Complex of Mao Zedong
Abstract: Mao Zedong was exceptionally concerned with problems concerning agriculture,countryside and peasant throughout all his life.According to Mao,peasants play a fundamental role in agriculture,and therefore in China.Consequently,Mao's mind was preoccupied with a profound peasant complex that influenced not only his own personal life but also the historical course of the Chinese society.The present paper is an attempt to explore the causes of Mao's peasant complex in regards to his time spent in the countryside as well as his revolutionary practice.It also lists the major phases of Mao's peasant complex.
