Title: Energy development strategies and policy adjustments in major countries
Abstract: Since eruption of the international financial crisis in 2008 the world geopolitical landscape has undergone profound changes;with still considerable uncertainties surrounding global economic recovery,the international energy market has become more complex.In response to this situation,the major energy consuming and producing countries have adjusted their energy development strategies and policies in the following ways:1) by seeking diversity in their mix and sources of energy;2) by increasing energy independence;3) by divergence in nuclear energy policy,with some countries continuing development of nuclear power,while others denuclearize;4) by vigorously developing new and renewable energies;5) by giving priority to energy conservation and energy efficiency;6) by strengthened international energy cooperation;and 7) by prioritizing technological innovation in energy.These changes in energy policy will have a far-reaching impact on the global energy market.
