Title: Optimal Irrigation Regime for Yield Improving and Water Saving in Winter Wheat
Abstract: A field experiment for optimal irrigation regime in winter wheat, aimed to yield improving and water saving, was carried out in Huantai county of Shandong province. The research results showed that with increasing irrigation time and irrigation quota, total water consumption increase. However, the ratio of consumed soil to total water consumption decline. As irrigation quota increase, the ratio of consumed water to total stored water in soil layer of 200 cm to 300 cm will lowered sharply. The optimal irrigation regime is irrigating one time in spring and another in autumn(based on relative drought year). Under this irrigation regime, winter wheat yield reached 7716.67 kg/km 2, water use efficiency was 15.92 kg/(hm 2·mm), and irrigation water use efficiency 34.3 kg/(hm 2·mm).
