Title: EFFECTS OF LEUKEMIA INHIBI TORY FACTOR OF FOLLICULAR FLUID ON IN VITRO FERTILIZATION AND EMBRYO TRANSFER
Abstract: Objective To investigate the effects of leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) of follicular fluid on in-vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET). Methods Enzyme-linked immunoadsorbent assay (ELISA) was applied to detect the LIF level in the follicle fluid at ovulation. The relationship between LIF level and ova obtained, ovum fertilization rate, early embryo quality, and the transfer outcome were analyzed. Results The LIF concentration of the follicular fluid was positively correlated with ovum fertilization rate and early embryo quality (r=0.613, 0.591; P0.05). The LIF concentration of the follicular fluid of the pregnant women was not significantly different from that of the non-pregnant women (t=0.630, P0.05). Conclusion LIF may affect oocyte development, fertilization, embryo quality and the transfer results.
