Title: Isolation and identification of hydrogen-producing bacterium AUH-BG 208 and hydrogen-producing capacity under different conditions
Abstract: One bacterium designated AUH-BG208 with higher hydrogen-producing capacity was isolated from Syrmaticus reevesii feces.Bacterial strain AUH-BG208 is a facultative gram-negative bacterium based on gram-staining and oxygen-endurance ability test.Physiological and biochemical characteristics and morphological study showed that bacterial strain AUH-BG208 had the same properties of that of genus Klebsiella.BLAST search on the GenBank revealed that the full-length of 16S rDNA gene sequence of strain AUH-BG208 has 100% similarity to that of Klebsiella pneumoniae(AJ233420).Furthermore,hydrogen-producing capacity under different conditions of bacterium AUH-BG208 was studied as well. The results showed that the optimal conditions for strain AUH-BG208 were as follows: initial pH7.0,the concentration of glucose 40 g/L,nitrogen source mixture of yeast powder and potassium nitrate. The maximum hydrogen-producing yield was 1 900 mL/L under the optimal conditions.
