Title: Liquid phase hydrogenation of furfural to furfuryl alcohol over Co-Cu-B catalyst
Abstract: The Cu-doped Co-Cu-B catalyst was prepared by chemical reduction of mixed CoCl_2 and CuCl_2 with KBH_4 in a- queous solution and the effect of the Cu-content on the catalytic performance was investigated during liquid-phase furfural hy- drogenation to furfuryl alcohol.The experimental results demonstrated that the selectivity to furfuryl alcohol was 100% and the furfural conversion reached 100% after reaction for 1.5h at Co/Cu molar ratio of 0.010.However,futher increase of the Cu- content caused a obvious decrease in activity.According to the systematical characterizations,such as XRD,XPS,ICP,TEM ect,the relationship between the catalytic behavior and the structural and electronic characteristics of the Co-Cu-B catalyst was discussed briefly.
