Title: Fluorescence Quantitative PCR for Detection of Ureaplasma urealyticum and Chlamydia trachomatis in Female Reproductive Tract Infections
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To observe the infection statas of Ureaplasma urealyticum(Uu) and Chlamydia trachomatis(Ct) in females with the reproductive tract infections,to provide experimental evidences for clinical diagnosis and therapy.METHODS Fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction(FQ-PCR) was performed on 374 cervical or vaginal secretions obtained from women with genital tract infections for Ct and Uu detection.RESULTS The results of 374 cases of reproductive tract infections in women showed that Uu infection rate was 61.7%,Ct infection rate was 6.6%,and Uu and Ct mixed infection rate was 6.0%.The patients were divided into five groups:18 to 20 years old,21 to 30 years old,31 to 40 years old,41 to 50 years and more than 50 years old,the positive rates of Uu and Ct were 72.7% and 50.0%,62.7% and 5.6%,62.0% and 5.4%,28.6% and 0,0 and 0,respectively.CONCLUSION In the female reproductive tract infections,Uu infection is markedly higher than Ct,and Uu infection is mainly in the form of single infection,Ct mostly dominates mixed infection. The infection rate of two kinds of pathogens are increasing with the age. These results show that the routine detections of Uu and Ct for reproductive tract infections have a great significance for the diagnosis and treatment of the female genital tract infection.
