Title: Empirical Analysis of Growth of Total Factor Productivity in China's Industry
Abstract: In this paper,the method of non-parametric Malmquist index is used to make an empirical analysis of the mounting condition of Total Factor Productivity in China’s industry,which is decomposed into technological progress and technical efficiency.Studies have shown that,the average growth rate of Total Factor Productivity in China’s industrial business,during the years between 1998 and 2007,is 9.9%;significant change can be seen from inter-industry Total Factor Productivity as well as the technological progress,while a relatively little change can be found in terms of technical efficiency;technological progress is the most eminent factor to promote the growth of Total Factor Productivity in China’s industry.
