Title: A New Secoiridoid Glucoside from Lonicera japonica
Abstract: AIM: Iridoid glucosides were expected to be isolated from the flower buds of Lonicera japonica Thunb.. METHOD:The 70% EtOH extract of L. japonica was successively partitioned with petroleum ether, ethyl acetate and n-BuOH. The ethyl acetate fraction was subjected to silica gel column to afford the compound (1). RESULT: On the basis of the spectral analysis, the structure was confirmed as dehydromorroniside. CONCLUSION: This compound was the third morroniside type secoiridoid glucoside reported in the genus Lonicera.
