Title: Influence of phosphorus on Ni(Co)Mo(W)/Al_2O_3 hydrotreating catalysts
Abstract: Ni(Co) promoted molybdenum catalysts supported on γ-Al2O3 are the most widely used for hydrotreatment of oil fractions. Phosphorus is classified as a second promoter in Ni(Co)Mo/Al2O3 hydrotreating catalysts in order to improve some particular physicochemical properties of these catalysts. The influence of phosphorus on pore structure and acidity of catalysts, dispersions of activated metals, and hydrodesulfurization (HDS) and hydrodenitrification (HDN) performance of catalysts are discussed in this review. The finding of phosphorus additive, disagreement of conclusions of researchers, and future research and development sre analyzed.
