Title: Effects of Low Temperature on Seed Germination and Seedling Growth of Peanut
Abstract: The effects of low temperature during harvest time on seed germination and seedling growth of peanut were systematically analyzed by indoor tests with the Arachis hypogaea cv.Qinghua 7.The results showed that the germination potential, germination rate, germination index and vigor index of seeds decreased with temperature decrease. The length of the main roots and lateral roots, the number of lateral roots and root vigor all decreased, and the emergence rate also got lower. It would cause negative effects on seed germination and seedling growth when the temperature reached-1℃,and-1℃ could be used as the threshold of low temperature which would do harm to peanut in harvest time.
