Abstract: Eating contaminated food is a most important vehicle for transmission of pathogens that cause travelers' diarrhea.The most common pathogens were enterotoxigenic E.coil,SalmoneLla,Shigella and Vibrio Cholerae,which could cause travelers' diarrhea for travelers to Southeast Asia.People must pay attention to E.coli O157:H7 and other intestinal pathogens.The condition of sanitation,safe food and adequate water supply,as well as knowledge,attitudes,behaviors and health condition of travelers themselves composed the risk factor of travelers' diarrhea.So the critical strategies of control were improving the environmental hygiene and sanitation,ensuring safe food and water supply and increasing self-protective ideas about health care for travelers.Correct choice for travel service was also helpful for reducing the incidence of travelers' diarrhea. Furthermore,when the diarrhea was caused in travel,travelers should be encouraged to use the oral rehy- dration therapy.
