Title: The Applied Value of C-Reactive Protein in Coronary Artery Disease
Abstract: Objective:To assess the applied value of C-Reactive Protein(CRP) in Coronary Artery Disease(CAD) Methods:The level of CRP, white blood cell (WBC),fibrinogen(FIB) and serum lipid in 106 patients with CAD and 106 healthy controls matched with CAD patients for sex and age range were assessed The body mass index(BMI) from patients' weight and height were computed The patient history inquiring about smoking habits, diabetes and hypertension were taken from every patient The patients with CAD were divided into three groups,26 cases of acute mycocardial infarction(AMI group),41 cases of unstable angina pectoris (UAP group),39 cases of stable angina pectoris(SAP group) The level of CRP,FIB WBC and serum lipid in three subgroups with that in controls were compared Results:The level of CRP and WBC in CAD group were higher than those in control group After adjuted for sex, age,BMI,smoking habits, diabetes, hypertension and serum lipid,CRP was correlated with CAD,the Odds Radio were 1 726 and 1 470 The levels of CRP in AMI group and UAP group were higher than that in control group The level of CRP in UAP group was higher than that in SAP group too There was no significant difference in the level of CRP between SAP group and control group Conclusion:Elevated CRP is an independent risk factor for CAD The level of CRP can reflect the disease degree in patients with CAD
