Title: Catalytic kinetic spectrophotometric determination of trace iridium based on the oxidation reaction of acridine red by potassium periodate
Abstract: Based on the catalytic effect of iridium? on the oxidation reaction of dimethyldiminoxanthenyl chloride(acridine red,AR) by KIO_4 in the H_2SO_4 medium,a new kinetic spectrophotometric method for determination of trace iridium? was established.The optimum conditions and kinetic parameters were investigated.Under the selected conditions,a good linear relationship could be obtained between the catalytic reaction rate and the concentration of iridium? in the range of 0.16-32.0 μg/L with detection limit of 1.2×10~-4 μg/mL.The method has been successfully applied for the determination of iridium in the metallurgical products and ore samples.
