Title: Effect of poly(dimethyldiallyl ammonium chloride) on algae-removal in feed water treatment
Abstract: When the turbidity of raw water exceeds 100 NTU,poly(dimethyldiallyl ammonium chloride) cationic flocculant as a coagulant aid in water treatment can obviously improve the effect of coagulation, reduces the turbidity of effluent water and enhances the removal rate of algae. However, the dosage of Poly(dimethyldiallyl ammonium chloride) should not exceed 0.2 mg/L,for excessive dosage will,on the contrary, reduce the coagulation effect. The proper dosage should be 0.1-0.2 mg/L,and the best condition for dosing is to add in polymeric aluminum chloride first at 20 mg/L and then to add in poly(dimethyldiallyl ammonium chloride) at 0.1-0.2 mg/L.In the neutral raw water whose pH value is 7-8,through the treatment, the turbidity of the effluent water after the precipitation can be decreased to 3 NTU,and the removal rate of algae is 86.1%.
