Title: Path Analysis of Eleven Agronomic Characters in Maize
Abstract: Thirty five crossed were made by using incomplete diallel crosses. Heredity correlation and heredity path of maize yield with eleven characters of growth period etc. was studied. The results indicated that maize yield was highly significantly correlated with seven characters of plant height etc., it was significantly correlated with growth period, and correlated with ear height and ear diameter, but rows per ear had negative effect on grain yield. The results of path analysis indicated that directly path coefficients of seven characters were positive, others were negative when selecting high yield maize hybrids, we should select the phenotypes of long fertile, many kernel rows, long ear and high germination percantage, meanwhile, select three characters of ear height etc., and the standard of other four characters was not high.
