Title: A Relative Analysis on Mental Health and Self-esteem in Nursing Students
Abstract: Objective To examine the correlation between mental health and self-esteem in nursing students.Methods 279 nursing students were surveyed with SCL-90 and TAS, and the relationship of SCL-90 and SES scores were analyzed.Results Nursing students showed a higher score on SCL-90 depression and phobia subscale, but less score on summarization, hostile and paranoia subscale than Chinese norm. A negative correlation were fond between SCL-90 and TAS scores.Conclusion There were some mental problem in the nursing student sample, and it is suggested that raising self-esteem, psychological health education and consultation were important to improve mental health level for the population.
