Title: Sulfur Release Properties of Oil Shale in the Pyrolysis Process
Abstract: The sulfur transformation of oil shale pyrolysis gas from Yaojie Gansu of China was studied.Sulfur release properties and distribution characteristics of oil shale pyrolysis from 475 ℃ to 1 000 ℃ and with different catalysts at 520 ℃ was investigated in tubular furnace and aluminum retort. The sulfur release of gaseous product was analyzed by micro sulfur analyzer. The test result was showed that the maximum sulfur release of oil shale pyrolysis at low temperature.with temperature increasing, total sulfur is changing in a W-shaped,the maximum release is 5 060.41 mg / m3 at 475 ℃.Hydrogen sulfide was the most ingredient of sulfur compounds in the pyrolysis gas from oil shale, the maximum release is 5 272.66 mg / m3 at 475 ℃.The sulfur release mechanism of oil shale pyrolysis is different at different temperature. The catalysts can be accelerated sulfur release of oil shale pyrolysis in aluminum retort at 520 ℃.Compared with the oil shale pyroiysis with no catalysts in aluminum retort at 520 ℃,bentonite and molybdenum disulfide have a greater role in promoting to sulfur release, the content of total sulfur released was 4.58 times and 3.95 times up; activated clay and cobalt naphthenate increased 64.04 percent and32.95 percent in the total sulfur release of oil shale pyrolysis.
