Title: Ozone/BAC Process for Advanced Treatment of Yellow River Water at Low Temperature
Abstract: Due to low temperature(3.6~5.6 ℃) of the Yellow River water in winter,it is difficult to improve finished water quality by using conventional treatment process,and so test was made on advanced treatment.Under the low dosage of ozone (0.5 mg/L),and low HRT (17.3 min and 6.9 min respectively in ozone column and activated carbon column),total removal rate of ozone/BAC process was averaged at 19.0%,16.6%,42.0%,and 23.7% respectively for COD_(Mn),DOC,UV_(254),and ammonia nitrogen from Yellow River water.The process was also efficient in removal of trihalomethane (THM) precursors.In addition,rising of ammonia concentration and nitrogen loss were observed during ozonation.
