Abstract:As for the manufacturing of support pin,adopting cold extrusion technology can decrease the cost and enhance the work efficiency in comparison with tradition cutting methods.Based on rigid and plastic...As for the manufacturing of support pin,adopting cold extrusion technology can decrease the cost and enhance the work efficiency in comparison with tradition cutting methods.Based on rigid and plastic FEM,the cold extrusion of support pin was simulated using DEFORM-3D.The metal flowing rule in the cold extrusion process was revealed,and the characteristics of velocity field,stress field,strain field and curve of distance-load were analyzed.The influence of extrusion velocity on stroke-load was investigated.The results show that the process of the cold extrusion can be expressed in three stages of upsetting stage,filling cavity stage and final shape stage.The deformation of the flanges of support pin is severe,and the stress of the flanges is biggest.The faster extrusion velocity is,the bigger the stroke-load is.The simulation results confirm that the process of cold extrusion forming support pin is feasible.Read More
