Title: Environmental Geochemistry Characteristics of Heavy Metals in Sediment of Kuncheng Lake
Abstract: The vertical distributions of Pb,Cu,Zn,Cd and Cr in the columnar sediments of 9 sampling sites in Kuncheng lake were determined.Obviously synchronous change tendency existed among the 5 heavy metals in the columnar sediment whose contents lowered continuously with increase of the sediment with depth, while the contents of heavy metals near pollution source were higher than the other stations in horizontal direction. The relativities of vertical direction showed that the environmental behavior of TOC was similar to heavy metals, which indicated that the pollution of heavy metals was disturbed markedly by human beings. The results of index of geo-accumulation(Igeo) evaluation showed that the dominant contaminant was Zn and pollution mainly focused on the surface. The ecological risk index represented that the pollution of sediment was in the middle state and Cd was the dominant ecological risk element.By evaluating the sediment of Kuncheng lake with the sediment quality guidelines,it showed that the metals toxicity effects in the lake was not high, but ΣTUs of columnar sediments in vertical direction tended to increasing. So it is necessary to attach importance to the problem in order to avoid worsing the organic toxicity of the lake.
