Title: EXPLORATION OF METHOD FOR STERILIZATION OF STOMATOLOGIC INSTRUMENTS
Abstract: In order to observe the efficacy of different methods in disinfection and sterilization of stomatologic instruments, on-the-spot monitoring method was used to examine the instruments treated with autoclaving and chemical disinfectants. Results: Autoclaving could fulfil the requirement of sterilization of stomatologic instruments. The eligible sterilization rate of dental drill, dental handpiece and needle was 93%~100% after immersing in 20 g/L glutaraldehyde disinfectant for 10 h, while the eligible rate was lower by immersing in 75% ethanol and 1000 mg/L bromogeramine for 10 h and fumigation with 10 g/m3 formaldehyde for 12 h. Conclusion: Autoclaving has reliable sterilizing efficacy and is the method of first choice for sterilization of stomatologic instruments.
