Title: Research on Head Loss of Curved Water Conveying Pipeline
Abstract: The Realizable κ-e turbulence model was used to simulate the curved water conveying pipeline composed of four elbows.The influence of connection pipe length between elbows and pipe wall relative roughness on head loss was analyzed.By defining coefficient I,the effect of the straight pipes after elbows on the water flow was analyzed.It is indicated that the length of the pipe after elbows should be in the range from 10 to 12 times of pipe diameter for head loss measurement in actual projects.The influence of pipe wall relative roughness on the total head loss can be ignored when the head loss is mainly composed of local head loss.The simulative results are consistent with the calculation results.
