Title: Dynamic Deformation Characteristics of Intact Loess under Different Water Content
Abstract: The relationship of some dynamic characteristics among dynamic stress and strain, shear modulus and damping is studied by dynamic triaxial tests on Xi'an intact loess with various moisture under different consolidation stress conditions. The experiment results indicate: ①The relationship between dynamic stress and strain of intact loess with various moisture can be described with hyperbola, which is influenced by the variations of consolidation stress conditions and water content very much, but the relationship between the ratio of dynamic shear modulus and the ratio of dynamic shear strain is little influenced by that;②Relationships between its two parameters(the maximum dynamic shear modulus, the maximum dynamic shear stress)and the product of consolidation mean principal stress and consolidation stress ratio can be described with power function which are almost identical under different consolidation stress conditions, and the relationship between the power function's factors and water content also can be described with power function;③Damping ratio of intact loess gradually increases with an increase in dynamic shear strain.Damping ratio-dynamic shear strain relationship is linear in half logarithm coordinate, which is almost independent of consolidation stress conditions and water content.
