Abstract:The present study was set to discuss appropriate number of common cottonseed meal and fermented cottonseed meal added in the diet of fifty crossbred hog barrows at 65 days of age(65-130 d) and finishi...The present study was set to discuss appropriate number of common cottonseed meal and fermented cottonseed meal added in the diet of fifty crossbred hog barrows at 65 days of age(65-130 d) and finishing period(131-162 d).The pigs in growth period(65-130 d) were randomly divided into five groups,10 head of pig for each.Control group were fed with the maize-soybean meal diet,5%,10% of the common cottonseed meal instead of soybean meal diet(group Ⅰ and group Ⅱ),10%,15% fermented cottonseed meal instead of soybean meal diet(group Ⅲ and Ⅳ).The control group continues to be fed with soybean meal diet,the experimental group Ⅰ-Ⅳ groups were randomly divided into two control groups,one of which continued to be fed with cottonseed meal diet,another group of which was fed with soybean meal diet.The results showed that when 5% cottonseed meal replaced soybean meal,daily weight gain of pigs were decreased compared with the control group;When 10% cottonseed meal replaced soybean meal,the daily weight gain and feed efficiency(P0.05) were reduced;However when the pigs were fed with 15% fermented cottonseed meal instead of soybean meal in diet,there were no effect on the growing performance of pigs and the unit cost of feed could be reduced at finishing period.The experiment was conducted that feeding with cottonseed meal in growing stage and ceasing to feed with it in finishing stage were compared with that in the whole stage,the result showed that feeding with cottonseed meal can accelerate the growth of the pigs and reduce the weight gain with units of feed costs.Read More
