Title: Academic Management and Administration System Reform in Higher Education Institutions
Abstract: Reform in colleges and universities should defer to the humanistic property of higher education, which should, rather than being simplified as a pure economic production, but observe the sacred mission of transmitting as well as making culture and knowledge, the two seeing a momentous differentiation. There then demands rationality in academic management to guard against its declination towards de-humanity or bureaucracy. So the relationship between academic power and administrative power must be harmonized and a reasonable equilibrium guaranteed. It is particularly emphatic to hold an academic management idea of power for learning to overcome the false polarity of managerialism reducing the complicated academic operations straightforward to an economic prosecution, hence to truly promote the function of higher education system.
