The characters used to distinguish them from the other allied species are dis-cussed. Hirstionyssus hupehensis, sp. nov. Female (Figs. 1-2): Body oval, slightly narrower near the anterior, 670μ in length,380μ in width. Dorsal plate elongate, anterior margin broadly round, with shouldered ap-pearance, lateral margin roughly straight, posterior 1/3 narrowed to a rounded tip, 555μin length, 320μ in width; with 26 pairs of setae, of which anterior and posterior mar-ginal ones longer than those on median portion. Unsclerotized portion of dorsum dis-tinctly striated, with 12 pairs of setae. Sternal plate slightly convex on anterior margin, moderately concave on posteriormargin, with 3 pairs of setae and 2 pairs of slit-like pores. Genitoventral plate tongue-like, with 1 pair of setae. Anal plate piriform, 97μ long and 69μ wide, with 3 setae.Distance between genitoventral and anal plates 93μ. Unsclerotized portion of venterstriated, with 15 pairs of setae. Stigma at the level between coxae Ⅲ and Ⅳ, peritremeextending anterior to middle of coxae Ⅰ, peritremalia extending posteriorly and inwardlyaround the posterior to inner margin of coxae Ⅳ. Coxae with spurs as: 0-2-2-1. Holotype ?, collected off the body of Apodemus agrarius in March, 1962, fromHupei Province. Paratype ?, collected off the body of Microtus fortis. Hirstionyssus microti, sp. nov. Female (Fig. 3-4): Body oval, 680μ in length, 430μ in width. Dorsal plateelongate, 570μ in length, 305μ in width, with 21 pairs of setae. Unsclerotized portionof dorsum distinctly striated, with 14 pairs of setae. Sternal plate convex on anterior margin and concave on posterior margin, with 3pairs of setae and 2 pairs of slit-like pores. Genitoventral plate tongue-like, slightly nar-rowed at a level of coxae Ⅳ, with 1 pair of setae. Anal plate oval, slightly narrowedat posterior half, 105μ long and 78μ wide, with 3 setae. Distance between genito-ventral and anal plates 85μ. Unsclerotized portion of venter striated, with 15 pairs ofsetae, of which the last pair are longer. Coxae with spurs as: 0-2-2-1. Holotype ?, collected off the body of Microtus fortis in February, 1962, fromHupei Province.Read More
