Abstract:Male SD rats were used as experimental subjects in this study.The rats were randomly divided into normal control group(NC,10 rats),diabetic model group(DM,14 rats)and diabetic model exercise group(DME...Male SD rats were used as experimental subjects in this study.The rats were randomly divided into normal control group(NC,10 rats),diabetic model group(DM,14 rats)and diabetic model exercise group(DME,20 rats).The type 2 diabetic rats of group DM and DME were duplicated through six-week high fat diet and intraperitoneal injection streptozotocin(STZ).The type 2 diabetic rats of group DME were arranged to swim 5 days every week for 10 weeks.Serum enzymes,myocardial TGF-β1/CTGF gene expression,and myocardial collagen metabolism of the rats were evaluated after 10 weeks.Results showed that ratsblood GLU,LDH,AST,CK,and myocardial HYP,oxidative stress,and TGF-β1 mRNA,CTGF mRNA expression were significantly increased in group DM(P 0.01), while these indicators were significantly lower in group DME(P 0.05 or P 0.01),but still significantly higher than group NC(P 0.05 or P 0.01).Those results indicated that a long-term swimming had a certain degree improvement of myocardial collagen metabolism in type 2 diabetic rats,which may be related to lower blood glucose,myocardial oxidative stress and TGF-β1/CTGF gene expression levels.Read More
