Title: Application of evaluating the difficult airway with GlideScope videolaryngoscope
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the patients who had difficult airway with GlideScope videolaryngoscope in perioperation and to observe its application value. Methods Thirty patients who were predicted difficult airway before operation evaluated the airway with the Macintosh direct laryngoscope and GlideScope videolaryngoscope in semiconsciousness, and recorded the Cormack grade and the changes of hemodynamics when the glottis was exposed by the two separated laryngoscope. If Cormack and Lehane grade was within 2 grade by using the GlideScope videolaryngoscope, the patients received rapid sequence induction of anesthesia. If the grade was up 2 grade, the patients would be performed according to ASA difficult airway course.Result GlideScope videolaryngoscope compared with Macintosh direct laryngoscope in the anesthetic endotracheal intubation could reduce Cormack and Lehane grade and induce less hemodynamic responses during exposing glottis. Conclusion The application of GlideScope videolaryngoscope will be beneficial to choose the better approach of intubation, which can evaluate the difficult airway more direct and acute, increase safety factor and degree of comfort, and avoid waving of hemodynamic responses.
