Title: EFFECTS OF BALL MILLING TECHNIQUES ON CHARACTERISTICS OF Al_2O_3/Mo_5Si_3 COMPOSITE POWDER BY MECHANICAL ALLOYING
Abstract: Al2O3/Mo5Si3 nanocomposite powder was synthesized by mechanochemical reduction of MoO3 with Mo,Si and A1 powders.The phase transformation and micrograph of composite powders and mechanical alloying under different milling conditions were investigated by usisng XRD,SEM.The results showed that Al2O3/Mo5Si3 composite powder were obtained by ball milling of raw materials for 10 h,and the reaction was complete.With extension of ball milling time the composite powders possessed more spherical shapes and uniform size distribution and the average particle size was 3~5 μm after 20 h.With the improvement of ball milling speed and milling time,milling energy was inteusified,thus the reaction start time was shorter.
