Title: A comparison between CD44~+CD24~(-/low)与ALDH1~+ as the markers of breast cancer stem cells
Abstract: Breast cancer cells that express CD44 +CD24-/low have been described as cancer stem cells(CSCs). Breast cancer cells expressing elevated levels of aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 (ALDH1) are also described as CSCs with ALDH1+CD44+CD24-/low subpopulation displaying highest tumorigenic potential in NOD/SCID models. CD44 +CD24-/low subpopulation and ALDH1+ subpopulation have many similarities, and also have many different properties and characteristics. Herein, we review and compare the available data reporting utilization of CD44+CD24-/low and ALDH1+ as the markers of breast cancer stem cells.
