Title: Teacher Education Progress in Developed Countries and theImplications for Teacher′s Colleges in China
Abstract: As an integral part of the world′s teacher education realm,teacher education in China needs to submit itself to the reforming trend in today′s world,learning lessons from developed countries′ experience in teacher education reforms.This goal is met by our efforts in seeking a sound knowledge about evolution of teacher education in U.S.,U.K.,France,Germany,and Japan to acquire any regularity or rule they share.Among others,we find this rule is best identified: the teacher education framework has evolved to be open from closed,the level of teacher being educated is raised to be higher from lower,the systems has grown united out of separation,the target of cultivation has shifted from vocation to specialty,and functionality has become comprehensive instead of limited.Teacher education in teachers colleges universities is the battle we must fight hard in order to secure victory.There are some valuable ideas in teacher education of developed countries that are worth learning.
