Title: Ethnic Classification and Community Life——An anthropology Research on "Tibetan Hui" Group in a Town of Yunnan
Abstract: in Yunnan Tibetan area is a special group,which has been formed in the process of long-term interaction and integration.Members in the group partly identify with Hui,but they have been Chinesized or Tibetanized in terms of customs and religious beliefs.This paper takes Shengping Town of Deqian County in Yunnan as a case,adopts the research method of anthropology and introduces the historical origin and living situation of group in the locality.I will argue that we should distinguish ethnic category on identity card,ethnic identity in psychology and ethnic customs in daily life while understanding the kind of phenomenon.In addition,I will try to explain that participation in and dependence on community is the main reason for Hui people to liberate themselves',in the meantime,they have preserved free space in their own families and mosques so that their traditional identity and culture can be lasted.Finally,combining relative discussions,I will explore the reason of localization of Islam and some revelations.
