Title: Analysis of the related factors between maternal-fetal impact of low forceps and cesarean section
Abstract: Objective To discuss the related factors between maternal fetal impact of low forceps and cesarean section in order to direct correct clinical application of forceps dilivery. Methods 1127 cases of low forceps and 4945 cases of cesarean section were retrospectively analyzed in our hospital from January 1992 to December 2001.Results Parturient complications:There was no significant difference between 2 groups(P0.05),but in cesarean section group 2 cases of amniotic fluid embolism were occurred,4 cesarean hysterectomies were performed because intraoperative hemorrhage and 2 postoperative hemorrhage underwent laparotomy again.Neonatal complications:The incidence of mild neonatal asphyxia in low forceps group were higher than that in cesarean section group(P0.01),there was no significant difference between 2 groups in severe neonatal asphyxia and neonatal death(P0.05).Conclusion Low forceps dilivery does not increase maternal fetal complication. The rate of cesarean section can be reduced to a certain degree by reasonable application of low forceps delivery.
