Abstract:Based on the minimum variance theory,comparison analysis was carried out between sine wave derived curves and river meandering processes.It is found that the curves can basically reflect changes in th...Based on the minimum variance theory,comparison analysis was carried out between sine wave derived curves and river meandering processes.It is found that the curves can basically reflect changes in the layout of natural developing bends.The layout of the bends in the best trained reach of the meandering part of the lower Yellow River coincides with sine wave derived curves.Formulas for the parameters of the sine wave derived curves were given by analyzing the data of the best trained reach.A foundational governing equation for the layout of the meandering reach was developed,and used to test the feasibility of the planning layout of the Liuyuankou—Fujunsi reach to be trained.The study provides a firm theoretical support for the training of meandering river.Read More
