Title: Application of Combined Orthognathic and Orthodontic Surgery on Maxillofacial Deformities After Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery
Abstract: Objective:To observe the clinical effect of combined orthognathic and orthodontic surgery on maxillofacial deformities after cleft lip and palate surgery. Methods:Selecting 110 cases with cleft lip and palate in postoperative dental maxillofacial deformity in the hospital from May, 2013 to May, 2014 as the research object, and randomly dividing them into control group and the research group, with 55 cases in each group. Results:Occlusal relationship and masticatory function after orthodontic combination therapy improved effectively, and postoperative deformity recurrence rate declined obviously. Conclusion:Combined orthognathic and orthodontic surgery on maxillofacial deformities after cleft lip and palate surgery can improve the occlusal relationship and reduce the incidence of postoperative deformity. It is an ideal method, and has the important value of clinical use.
