Title: Research on Purification Efficiency of Polluted Water Remediation by Submerged Macrophytes
Abstract: The study of purification efficiency of polluted water remediation by submerged Macrophytes, including Ceratophyllum Demersum L.,Vallisneria Spiralis and Elodea Nuttalli was conducted. The results showed that each specie of three submerged Macrophytes was capable of removing nutrients(nitrogen and phosphorus) from the polluted water effectively, that the concentrations of NH4+-N and TN could be reduced from 1.1~1.3 and 3.7~4.6 mg/L to 0.1~0.15 and 0.71~1.02 mg/L respectively, and that the concentrations of PO43——P and TP could be reduced from 0.06~0.08 and 0.45~0.47 mg/L to 0.014~0.018 and 0.03~0.071 mg/L,respectively.It was shown that these three submerged Macrophytes have a good property in improving water quality and Elodea Nuttalli could obtain the best results. Each species can enhance the water transparency and increase the dissolution oxygen, thus promoting the biodegradation by in-site microbes.
