Title: Hepatitis B Virus Genotypes in Children in Jiangxi Province
Abstract: Objective To investigate the genotype characteristics of hepatitis B virus(HBV) in children in Jiangxi province,and to provide an important reference for diagnosis,treatment and prevention of childhood HBV infection.Methods A total of 118 hepatitis B virus surface antigen(HBsAg)-positive serum samples from children were collected to extract HBV DNA for S gene amplification and sequencing.Genotypes of HBV were determined using Genotyping software and genetic subtypes were identified by phylogenetic tree construction of HBV S gene using Editseq,Clustalx(1.83) and Mega 4 software.Results HBV S gene was successfully amplified and sequenced in the 118 samples.Genotype B was found in 112 samples(94.92%),all of which belonged to subgenotype B2.Genotype C was found in 6 samples(5.08%),including 4 cases of subgenotype C2 and 2 cases of subgenotype C3.Conclusion Subgenotypes B2 of HBV genotype B was predominant in children with HBV in Jiangxi province.In addition,a few children with HBV had subgenotype C2 and subgenotype C3.The genetic distance of HBV was near in children in Jiangxi province.
