Abstract: Let x,y,m,n be positive integers such that min(x,y,m,n)1 and mn. In this paper, we prove that if n is an odd and x is a prime power, then the equation xm-x=yn-y has only the solutions (x,y,m,n)=(3,2,2,3), (16,3,2,5) and (13,3,3,7).
