Title: A Study on the Contribution of Increased Application of Potassium Fertilizer to the Yield of High Starch Content Potato
Abstract: Through two years'experiment the effect of increased application of potassium fertilizer on the physiological traits related to the yield of earliest-mature potato was studied. The result showed that increasied application of potassium fertilizer on the base of common fertilization in the local area can improve the yield, commodity rate of tuber and content of starch of potato, suggesting that potassium fertilizer contributes to quality of potato. Moreover, root activity, chlorophyll content and net assimilation rated can be increased by increased application of potassium fertilizer, revealing that potassium fertilizer contributes to related physiological traits.Related analysis of production, quality and physiological indices showed that increased application of potassium fertilizer contributes equivalently to yield and quality as well as net assimilation indices.Different treatments of increased application of potassium fertilizer have different yield increase and quality improvement raise, indicating that suitable treatments should be chosen according to production practice.
