Title: EFFECTS OF YAOTUI LITONG POWDER ON SUBSTANCE P CHANGES IN DORSAL ROOT GANGLION OF RATS WITH AUTOGRAFTING NUCLEUS PULPOSUS TO CAVUM EPIDURALE
Abstract: Objective: To observe the effects of yaotui litong powder on substance P changes in dorsal root ganglion of rats with autografting nucleus pulposus to cavum epidrale. Methods: Rats were randomly divided into five groups, the sham operated, model, Yaotongning contol, yaotui litong powder high dose and low dose groups, each group contained 10 rats. The non-compressive models with transplanted autogenous nucleus pulposus were made by removing autogenous nucleus pulposus from the coccygeal vertebral and placing it into the back of L5~6 nerve roots of left cavum epidurale. Each group was given corresponding management, substance P changes in dorsal root ganglion of each group were determined by immunohistochemistry method after modeling two weeks. Results: To compare with the sham operated group, the number of SP positive neurons in dorsal root ganglion of each modeling group rats was obviously increased, and the immunoreaction intensity of SP positive neurons was enhanced. To compare with the model group, the number and immunoreaction intensity of SP positive neurons in dorsal root ganglion of each treated group rats were lowered significantly(P0.05), the effects in yaotui litong powder high and low dose groups were more obvious than those in positive group. Conclusion: Yaotui litong powder has obvious analgasic effect by down-regulating or inhibiting SP expression of dorsal root ganglion after nerve root injury from non-compressive nucleus pulposus protrusion.
